Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) adopted the research proposal described below as one of their program, “Research Proposal FY2009 for Basic Research Programs (PRESTO)”.
PRESTO (Precursory Research for Embryonic Science and Technology) aims to promote fundamental research in the field where a strategic focus is placed, as a part of a system that induces innovations leading to social and economic revolution, and to generate new innovative technology that leads to the development of scientific technology and the creation of new industries. Under the Research Director and Research Advisor of PRESTO, at the events organized by PRESTO several times a year, selected researchers can get advice from top-leading researchers and concentrate in their own challenging works being inspired by other researchers with different expertises in the same research fields.
